Westchester Bluegrass Club jam session

 

There is an open bluegrass jam in Rockland County,  Nyack NY, every Monday night at O'Donoghues Pub(ODs).  Usually starts around 8pm and goes to the wee hours .... O' Donoghues. 66 Main St. Nyack, NY 10960. 845-358-0180   ........adendum:
Someone wrote to say: This jam is not only bluegrass but bluegrass, celtic, folk, blues, in other words, it's eclectic.
Also, the jam usually starts between 9-10pm (you could say 9:30pm I guess), but definitely not 8pm.     2/08

Southern Westchester Bluegrass Jam. There's lots of bluegrass in Westchester, but not so much in Southern Westchester. To remedy this a regular jam has now started in White Plains, so far meeting on the second Sunday of the month from 3-6 pm. If at all interested, email Ted at TedAns@aol.com for details. We are just starting an old time jam at The Jalopy Theatre each week. We’d love it if you would help us publicize the event. There is an accoustic, blugrass, ol'time, whatever music jam starting in Rockaway, NJ at the Marcella Community Center on Greenpond Rd...halfway between Rts. 80 & 23. It will probably be 2nd Thursday of the month beginning with our first (again...second try) on Thurs., Feb. 8 (2007)starting around 7 / 7:30. We are hosting a twice monthly ot,folky, with some bluegrass, jam on alternating Tues, eves at our house. Bring a dessert,bottle of wine or whatever and have some fun. This is a benniner/intermediate jam with all levels wellcome. I also play clarinet and could work it into some of the tunes. Friends and fun are really the idea. Cold Spring Harbor: Beginning this coming Sunday, September 11th, 2005, The General Store's Proprietor Ross Madalena will re-host his Sunday Afternoon Acoustic Jams starting at 4:30PM and running until 7PM or so.  Up to Thirty musicians can be accommodated, bring a song and a friend.  No alcohol, but coffee, soft drinks and food is available at reasonable cost.  For more information, contact Ross at (631)692-8065.  The General Store is located at 85 Main Street (NY Route 25A) in Cold Spring Harbor,

Wanted to let you know that I'll be hosting a BG/OT jam  bi-weekly on the 2nd and 4th sundays of each month. For those who haven't been, FLOYD is a great Kentucky-style bar in the Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn - Atlantic Ave. b/w Clinton and Henry. Monthly Bluegrass Jam at the Parkside Lounge late, at 12:00 after The Big Apple'achia show. We're calling it "The Lonesome Jam", but so far it's not very lonesome at all! Bring a friendly instrument and rub elbows. We're sensible located at 317 East Houston St, (Bet. ave. B&C) Must be 21 or older with I.D. and there is a $5.- cover for the band  from  9:30 to 12:00 but the jam is free and very open. Bar phone is 212-431-7791 . We are having a Monthly Bluegrass jam session at EarthMatters 177 Ludlow
street at Houston. The venue is a beautiful covered garden area above an
organic grocery store. There is room for 80 people and the beer is cold!!!

The Bluegrass and Oldtime Music Association of New Jersey Jam at the  Embury United Methodist
Church on Church Street in Little Silver, NJ. The Jam and Stage Show takes
place on the third Sunday of the month, September through May. In addition
to the jamming (in three jamming rooms downstairs and, weather permitting,
in the churchyard and parking lot), we have four or five bands performing

WE MOVED TO MANNION'S. The Stony Brook Friends of Old Time Music
(SBFOTM) now meet in the center of Somerville, NJ.
Beginning Tuesday, November 19, 2002 (and every 1st and 3rd Tuesday
evening), all old-time musicians are invited to an open jam session at
Mannion's Pub & Restaurant in the central business district of
Somerville, NJ at 150 West Main Street. (This is the same group that
most recently met at the Hopewell Train Station in Hopewell, NJ).
Mannion's food and drink prices are moderate and there is plenty of room

The LITMA (Long Island Traditional Music Association) board has generously agreed to let us have our future meetings in the tavern on the grounds of the Brush Barn. The Bluegrass Concert Series at the Emelin Theater hosts a Jam session before each show (see: concert and events). Pickin hours: 7-8:30pm.  Also, the pickin' party is free.
